The City of Hanau and the Main-Kinzig District are located exactly in the middle of Europe. As the eastern part of FrankfurtRhineMain, Germany’s most cosmopolitan and second largest business region, Hanau and the Main-Kinzig District do have excellent transport links. Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) is only half an hour away. The Hanau riverport, the Hanau ICE-rail link and many motorway connections provide a hub to all parts of Europe.

Our main branches of industry are automation, automotive, chemicals (mainly rubber, plastics and dental technology), health care, logistics/transportation and material technology. Hanau and the Main-Kinzig District are highly recognised by service in­dustries like wholesale and retail trade for the well developed infrastructure.

Tourism plays a major role in the forestal parts of the region with its spas, especially in the Mountains Vogelsberg and Spessart – which are both lovely landscapes and worth a visit.
